This week, let’s take a closer look at something that’s been at the heart of our shop since the beginning: embroidery.

🧷 What Is Embroidery?

Embroidery is the craft of decorating fabric or garments with thread. But here at Imaginations, it’s much more than that—it’s a way to bring your brand, school spirit, or personal style to life.

We use commercial embroidery machines that are far more powerful (and faster!) than your average sewing machine. Each design is digitized using special software, which tells the embroidery machine how many stitches to use, where to place them, and in what order.

✨ The Embroidery Process – Step by Step

1. Design & Digitizing
   It starts with your logo or artwork. Our team takes your image and turns it into a digital stitch file. This tells the machine exactly how to sew it out.

2. Hooping the Garment
   We place your garment (shirt, jacket, hat—you name it!) into a hoop that keeps the fabric tight and centered. This is crucial to make sure your design comes out clean and even.

3. Threading the Machine
   Each needle on our multi-head machines is loaded with a different thread color. When the machine starts, it automatically switches threads as needed—pretty cool, right?

4. Sewing It Out
   Once everything’s ready, we hit “go,” and the machine begins to stitch the design—thousands of times! A small logo might use 5,000 stitches; larger designs can take 15,000 or more.

5. Finishing Touches
   After the design is sewn, we remove the backing material and clean up any loose threads. Then it’s ready to wear, gift, or show off!
